“Experiencing anxiety doesn’t have to be a barrier to achieving your ambitions”
Mark Simmonds
Mark Simmonds is married to Mel, and they have three grown-up children – Will, Emily and Jack.
For the majority of his career, Mark has operated in the area of management training and has been fortunate enough to have worked with some of the world’s largest companies including, Unilever, HSBC, Tesco, GlaxoSmithKline and the Red Cross.
He has loved this career! However, throughout his life, Mark has struggled with anxiety. When he was in his late thirties, this led to a nervous breakdown brought on by pressure and stress at work.
This culminated in an attempt to take his own life. From rock bottom, he then proceeded to rebuild a life and career – that worked for him.
In 2019, he wrote Beat Stress At Work mainly because he was keen to share his own experiences with others who found themselves in a similar situation to his own.
Mark continues to work hard in the training profession he has always loved, and along with Mel, they run their agency called Genius You.
However, he spends more and more time both writing and talking about stress, both in school and in the workplace.
In 2022 he delivered talks/workshops for Unilever, Philips, Virgin Media O2, Orwell Housing, St. George’s School, and Weybridge. Aylesbury Grammar School.
